Colour poem - Crimson red

Last week, we created our own colour poems using a range of descriptive language!

WALT-use figurative language in out writing

Crimson reminds me of juicy raspberries in my mouth.
Crimson are beautiful roses planted in the grassy ground.
Crimson sounds like an apple being crunched on.
Crimson makes me feel a bit frustrated but relaxed at the same time.
Crimson tastes like freshly picked strawberries off from the plant.
Crimson smells like baked cherry pie just taken out of the oven.

Junk mail by Prue Hilson

WALT: Write prediction for what a story might be about based
on the given keywords

One day, Lili was sick so Ana delivered the circulars on a buggy
Then, Ana pushed the brake off and the pram took off to the
streets in the town, when Ana arrived at the job the manager
was mad. “You are late! That is very bad!” shouted the
manager. Ana had worries that Lili might lose her job so she
paid money to not let that happen.

WALT: Evaluate our prediction after reading the story (junkmail)
by Prue Hilson

I give my prediction 5/10, I predicted correctly that Lili was sick
and Ana helped her get her work done.

However, I got the manager part wrong as it doesn’t link to
anything in the story.

Where am I describing?

Children and people laugh joyfully as they run and chase their friends,
Most people come at a specific time of the day.
No one comes when rain approaches.
A sea of unprotected faces rub on white cream as it fades into skin due to
the blazing sun above them.
Since many sea creatures swim here often, they’re in sight of humans.
The water will sprint across the shore as it slides back to its original place.
Feet will lay on soft, golden sand as it climbs up and between toes.
Be careful, because the big wave of natural disasters might occur any
minute when staying at this place.
People also bring things like mats, towels, umbrellas, toys and balls to enjoy
their time at this place.
Or they may even bounce the volleyball over the net, trying to avoid it from
falling on the sand.
The clothing they bring to this place is different to everyday outfits you
wear and feel comfortable with.
Some may even come to this place with hats or sunglasses for extra
protection encase the sunscreen wasn’t enough.
Learning how to swim is a key thing to know in the big crowd of water,
it's dangerous if people are clueless when in deep waters.
Don't fear though, there will always be a person on watch for drowning or
other emergencies.
To alert the watcher, parents scream for help if their child is in an alarming
situation.
This is where people go surfing in the big waves that slowly grow over you.
The shining sun warms your wet head that has been splashed with water as it
dries the liquid on your head.
