Lit By The Moonlight - Writing (At Home)

Lit by the moonlight

Masie was having her usual midnight walk, she wore a coat as the
wind was cold in the night. She liked taking walks while it was dark
because she thought it was calm and refreshing.

Masie was about to turn around and head back home. In the corner
of her eye, she spotted something. She stopped mid - step. Behind
a bush nearby, Masie could see two glowing eyes from the
darkness.

Her mind thought about what it could be. She pondered while
staring at the creature. Before she could think more, the pair of
glowing eyes shifted. Masie saw as one leg covered in black fur
emerged from the darkness, followed by another. The creature
became more clear as the pathway got lit by the moonlight.

It was a cat! Masie sighed. She’s never been so relieved in her
life. The cat wasn’t scared around Masie, it was like the cat was
comfortable around her. With Masie knowing it was a cat all along,
she walked back home thinking it would be a funny story to tell to
her friends.

Habitat Poem

WALT - Write a poem about animal habitats/homes

From being kept in a farm,
Or roaming outside.
Some animals even
Live in the Southside!

In the depth of an ocean,
Or on a top of a mountain.
Birds might even drink
a fountain!

Hiding in a tree,
Or just it's trunk.
Elephants don’t belong in the ocean,
Or they’ll have sunk.

In a forest or a jungle,
With trees all around.
Birds in the trees,
Making a squawking sound.

In dry deserts,
Where camels walk.
Up in the sky,
Swooped down a hawk.
